Cultural Programs
We live in an age of diversity. In our increasingly interdependent global economy, the ability to understand and unite differing cultures is vitally important. Austria’s image in the world has traditionally, been defined largely by her cultural heritage, and culture is one of Austria’s strongest assets in her relationship with the United States. The American Austrian Foundation capitalizes on this asset and through its cultural programs provide students from outstanding American institutions and universities the opportunity to spend up to one month at leading Austrian institutions where they can experience how to create music and art in a different environment.Through the newly inaugurated curatorial exchange, young curators from Austria and America will spend up to one month at a corresponding museum in the department of their choice to expand their expertise.
The American Austrian Foundation also supports the next generation of musicians with its children's music camps operated in collaboration with the Vienna Philharmonic Orchestra and the Salzburg Music Festival.
