H. Dirk Sostman, M.D., Professor and Chair of Radiology at Weill Medical
College of Cornell University, and Radiologist-in-Chief of New York
Weill Cornell Medical Center, has been elected President of the Association
of University Radiologists (AUR), a multi-faceted radiological organization
whose main focus is the academic side of radiology.
Dr. Sostman, who is also Associate Chief Medical Officer of the Cornell
Physician Organization, received his M.D. in 1976 from Yale University
School of Medicine. He pursued a medical internship, radiology residency,
nuclear medicine residency, and thoracic imaging fellowship at Yale
New Haven Hospital. He was on the faculty at Yale until 1987, as Associate
Professor and Chief of MRI. He was then at Duke University, where he
was Professor and Vice Chair of Radiology, until 1995.
