Curriculum Vitae
holds a Doctorate in Law from Graz University, Austria, and a Master’s
Degree in European Integration from the College of Europe in Brügge,
Belgium.
He is presently director of the “Vienna Federation of Industry”
and the “Austrian Association of Manufacturers of Branded Products”.
Previously Thomas Oliva held numerous positions in research institutes
and as a Senior Advisor to the Chairman of the Christian Democratic
Party and Vice Chancellor of Austria.
Thomas Oliva’s present activities involve the boards of industrial
companies and other organisations in the public and non-profit sector.
Thomas Oliva is among others Member of the Board of Directors of

- The Vienna Fund for the Advancement of Employees of Vienna Business
Companies
- The Austrian Automobile Association
- The Scientific and Administrative Board of the European Forum Alpbach

Thomas Oliva is serving also as President of the Scientific Advisory
Council of the Vienna Technology Fund.
In addition to traditional lobbying activities for Viennese Industrial
companies Thomas Oliva’s national and international activities
encompass city marketing for Vienna abroad as well as programming and
organising international conferences and congresses on social, technical
and political issues.
The Alpbach Technology Forum for example brings together about 120
invited speakers (Nobel Price Winners, politicians, administrators,
industrialists etc.) with about 600 additional conference attendees.
The latest addition to the Alpbach Technology Forum is “Junior
Alpbach”, a programme designed to create awareness for science
and technology among young people.
Thomas Oliva is also organising together with the Academy of Sciences
and the Vienna School Board public lectures on various scientific subjects.
Thomas Oliva is member of several professional and social organisations
– e.g. The Knights of Malta and Past President of his Rotary Club
in Vienna.
