John Mulhall is currently Associate Professor of Urology and Director
of the Sexual Medicine Program at Weill Medical College of Cornell University,
New York Presbyterian Hospital. He has a joint appointment with the
Department of Urology at the Memorial Sloan Kettering Cancer Center
where is an Associate Attending. He is also the Director of the Sexual
Medicine Research Laboratory at Weill Medical College. His research
interests include the study of the pathobiology of Peyronie's disease
fibroblasts, post-radical pelvic surgery preservation of erectile function,
erectile dysfunction as a harbinger of coronary artery disease and androgen
supplementation in male and female sexual dysfunction.
Dr Mulhall is the recipient of numerous research awards including
a Career Development Award from the Veterans Administration (1998),
a Young Investigator Award from the International Society for Sex and
Impotence Research (2000), the Robert P Nelson Award from the Sexual
Medicine Society of North America (2001) and at the most recent biannual
meeting of the International Society for Sex and Impotence Research
(2002) was awarded the prestigious Jean Francois Ginestié award
for basic science research.
He sits on several committees of national and international organizations
pertaining to his specialty, including the board of directors of the
Sexual Medicine Society of North America (SMSNA) and the editorial board
of the Journal of Urology and the International Journal Of Impotence
And Sex Research/Journal Of Sexual Medicine. He reviews for multiple
journals and funding agencies. Dr Mulhall has published in excess of
60 papers in peer-reviewed journals, has authored many book chapters
and is author of the book Contemporary Management of Urologic Emergencies.
