2016-02-04 10:26 | Annual OMI Coordinators’ Meeting 2016

The Open Medical Institute is a success story.  Its success, more specifically, is the product of numerous international collaborations and cooperation.  One group who is key to the OMI is our network of local coordinators.

Currently, we work with 30 of coordinators in 30 of countries throughout Central and Eastern Europe and the former Soviet Bloc.  Coordinators are tasked with the promotion of the various OMI programs in their respective countries, and are heavily involved in the recruitment and assessment of fellows.  OMI staff also work with various coordinators to plan and implement local satellite symposia, which are 2-day seminars.  Increasingly, our coordinators are also becoming more involved in local fundraising activities to enable more physicians to participate in OMI programs.

From January 24 - 26, 2016, we were happy to welcome 20 of our OMI coordinators to Schloss Arenberg in Salzburg, for a 3 day meeting to review procedures, address concerns and plan for 2016 and beyond.  It was an excellent opportunity for the OMI team to build relationships with this important group of partners.
