Eligibility
American and Austrian medical residents from our partner institutions in their third or fourth year of training are eligible to apply for an Andlinger fellowship.
Application Process & Deadlines
Candidates should complete the application form (see downloads) and submit it with the following documents via email to andlinger@americanaustrianfoundation.org
- Current CV
- A recent passport photo
- A letter of recommendation from the chairperson of your department (at least six months prior to stay)
- A one-page statement concerning the purpose of your visit to Austria or the United States
Candidates are invited to apply by the following deadlines:
- July 30, 2010 (for fellowships from January – July 2011)
- January 31, 2011 (for fellowships from August – December 2011)
- June 30, 2011 (for fellowships from January – July 2012)
Details
The Andlinger Fellowship is a travel grant. Fellows travelling from the US to Austria will receive $1,000 paid in two installments (50% upon receipt of a confirmed itinerary and 50% upon receipt of the final report). Fellows travelling from Europe to the US will receive 50% of their economy airfare.
All fellows are responsible for their own arrangements, such as travel, insurance, housing and correspondence with their mentor.
