studies of sinology, general linguistics and history at Vienna University and Shandong University (China);
since 1984 frequent study visits to China: language studies at Shandong University, Jinan; research work at the Historical Archives of the Imperial Palace Museum, Beijing; guiding several study tours of the Chinese People’s Republic

lecturing in Europe, several publications on China history;
since 2003 fellow at the Department of Chinese Studies, Vienna University;
2001, 2002, 2003 and 2004: Master of Ceremonies at the Chinese New Year’s Concerts organised by CCTV (China Central Television), Vienna Musikverein

since 1991: working for the Mayor and Governor of Vienna at the Executive Office of the Mayor, City of Vienna
since 1992 responsible for the International Relations Division;
since 1997 Deputy Director of the Executive Office of the Mayor
numerous journeys abroad for the City of Vienna
