Karl-Heinz Faber

Karl-Heinz Faber joined Daimler-Benz A.G. of Stuttgart,
Germany, in 1956 as an Export Service Engineer. He represented the company
in Cairo, Egypt, as Regional Service Manager for the Middle East from
1958 to 1963 with the responsibility to build up distributor service
organizations with their respective retail dealer service networks.
In 1964, Faber transferred to New York as Daimler-Benz A.G.'s Regional
Service Manager for North America. The following year when Mercedes-Benz
of North America Inc. was established he was named Service Organization
Manager. He became National Service Manager in 1973. In 1981, Faber
was promoted to Vice President, product Compliance and Service and was
promoted to Senior Vice President, Product Compliance, Service and Parts
in 1989. Since October 1994 he served in an advisory capacity to Mercedes-Benz
A.G., Germany and Mercedes-Benz of North America Inc., USA, as Senior
Vice Presisent, Special Projects and retired in July 1996.
Faber served on various committees including the Technical Standards
Board of the Society of Automotive Engineers and the Motor Vehicle Safety
Research Advisory Committee to the Department of Transportation / National
highway Traffic Safety Administration. He also served as liaison officer
for MIT's International Motor Vehicle Program and Mercedes-Benz A.G.
Faber is a member of the Business Council for the United Nations, the
American Austrian Foundation, the Austrian American Council, and serves
on the Advisory Board of Davenport Recourses, LLC, a venture capital
fund. He serves on the Board of Trustees as Treasurer and Member of
the Executive Committee, of Wainwright House, a nonsectarian holistic
educational center and the U.S. Austrian Chamber of Commerce. A native
of Vienna, Karl-Heinz Faber has an automotive engineering degree from
the Vienna Technical Academy.
