Mr. Gerhard Andlinger

Purpose

The American Austrian Foundation awards fellowships to American and Austrian medical residents from our partner institutions to participate in the Andlinger Residency Exchange Fellowship Program. This bilateral exchange provides one months’ training in either the United States or Austria during medical residency. The program aims to supplement the resident’s education and to broaden his/her experience through exposure to a foreign healthcare system.

The Fellowship Program bears the name of Mr. Gerhard R. Andlinger, a successful American businessman with Austrian roots, and a trustee of the AAF. Mr. Andlinger has generously supported this program since its inception. Started in 1992, more than 100 medical residents from Austria and the United States have rotated through departments for one month.
