Drs. Gotto and Pardes awarded the Austrian Cross of Merit First Class
In a festive ceremony hosted by Austrian Consul General Dr. Brigitte Blaha
Antonio M. Gotto, M.D., Dean of Weill Cornell Medical College and
Herbert Pardes, M.D., CEO of NewYork Presbyterian Hospital
were awarded the Austrian Cross of Merit First Class for their support of the Salzburg Weill Cornell Seminars.
Weill Cornell and NewYork Presbyterian Hospital are founding partners of this unique educational initiative, which has successfully trained 9,000 doctors from the former Communist world (Central and Eastern Europe, Central Asia and the former Soviet Union).
Consul General Brigitte Blaha personally awarded the decorations and Ambassador William Vanden Heuvel, Chairman of the American Austrian Foundation held the laudation.
